With the Universal Reduced Fare Card, a qualifying person will receive reduced fare at all participating providers. The benefits of the Universal Reduced Fare Card include easier, seamless access to transportation with less paperwork. Currently, most transportation providers require an application to receive a reduced fare. Not all transit providers participate in this program, so interested individuals should review the Transit Agencies by County list. It is strictly voluntary between providers. Universal Reduced Fare Card is a partner pilot project between the Michigan Developmental Disabilities Council ( MDDC), the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) Office of Passenger Transportation, MASSTrans, and the Michigan Public Transportation Association ( MPTA). Fortunately, BC transit has two bus routes that can serve this intercampus need ( Route #8 and Route #9 .The Universal Reduced Fare Card is a special card offered free of charge that allows seniors and people with disabilities to use participating transit providers throughout the state, and receive the provider’s reduced fare without completing additional applications or paperwork. While most of the Camosun community is learning and working from home, there may be instances where intercampus travel is necessary. The Camosun Express Shuttle will not resume service this fall/winter due to Covid-19 and its related impacts. Camosun ExpressĬamosun offers a free shuttle bus service between Lansdowne and Interurban campuses for students and employees. These racks are available on low-floor buses and double-deckers. Victoria Regional Transit has a bike rack system on many of their bus routes to assist in longer commutes. If your commute is too long to cycle the entire way, try cycling a portion and busing the next. Try riding your bike one way and taking the bus the other. If you have a disability that prevents you from using regular public transit buses some or all of the time, you may be eligible for door-to-door custom transit services via HandyDart.
